There Is No Reason Required for the Tyrant's Oppression
A lion and a lamb
both came to the same stream for a sip of water because they were thirsty. The
lamb was farther down the stream than the lion, who was standing higher up.
The lion was now
looking for a reason to quarrel since he wanted to eat the lamb. He yelled at
the lamb, "Why have you made the water dirty for me? Can't you see that
I'm drinking?"
"Sir, how could
I have done that? Water is pouring down to me from where you are standing above
me,” the frightened lamb bravely declared while trembling with fear.
Because that was
true, the lion was powerless to refute it. But in an effort to start a quarrel,
he snapped, "Six months ago, you propagated false and defamatory rumours
about me!"
"No, Sir. I did
not do it because I was not even born six months ago!" the lamb countered.
"In that case, it was your father who spread rumours about me," the lion growled as he charged the lamb, tore him to pieces, and killed him unfairly.
